|
1. The format is flexible.
You do not have to enter all the data (if you do not know it).
Just enter what you know.
The only mandatory fields are marked *.
Repeat the submission for each person.
The information is added to the family tree periodically and the
web-site updated.
The frequency depends upon the volume of new or key information.
|
|
2. This form should prompt you for the useful information (and
helps us) - however if you have problems select the general message
option near the top of the page (on the right) instead.
|
|
3. If you are submitting addition data about an existing person,
- enter their name
- select the relationship as "Above"
- enter the additional data
|
|
4. If you are submitting data about a new related person,
- enter the person they are related to,
- select their relationship i.e Son/daughter, husband/wife, father/mother
etc
- and then enter the persons data
|
|
5. Use "Husband" or "Wife" also for partners
(where there is no formal marriage).
This enables you to create a "relationship" and identify
children.
Very useful if there are subsequent marriages or partners, and children..
|
|
6. If you do not know maiden names, as often happens with distant
relatives, enter "Nee unknown".
|
|
7. If you are not sure of specific dates use "About"
dates where possible, i.e. Abt. 1986 or Abt. Sept 1986.
Approximate dates are more useful than no dates and help in searching
for accurate dates.
|
|
8. For burials/cremations
- enter "Burial at ...." or "Cremation at ...".
You can still enter this data even if you do not know the date.
|
|
9. Use the notes for optional events, sources and information,
e.g.
- Divorce 1999
- Living at 47 Oxford Road in 1881 census
- In the Royal Engineers 1953-1976
- Moved to Banbury 1901
- Ashes in Memorial Garden, Stoke Poges.
- Shop-aholic in later years (only joking - although it appears
in one record!).
This information can be informative and assist ongoing research.

it or sending it to us.
